Deep breathing relaxation techniques are also a good way of helping someone with nighttime panic attacks. Breathing correctly involves using your diaphragm rather than one’s chest, and relaxation techniques teach you how to do this. Air is breathed in deeply and breathed out the same when breathing properly. By doing this correctly you focus more on your breathing then on your rising panic and it helps you calm down. This treatment for panic attacks when sleeping, when done right before bedtime, allows them to stay relaxed throughout the nighttime hours.

The third way to treat panic attacks at night is to meditate before going to sleep. How does this help? By doing this you are putting yourself in a much more relaxed and positive state of mind before going to bed.
