The Experiences Associated With Anxiety and Panic Attacks

You may find it hard to just live a normal life if you suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. This is very important because if anxiety and panic attacks are a frequent occurance, you may be missing out on very important parts of your social and work life.

When you start to have an anxiety or panic attack your body responds quickly to the anxiety provoking stimuli. THere will be something in your surroundings which will spark worry, anxiety or fear. Unfortunatley, panic attacks can occur without cause or any other reason that stimualtes their onset. You may wake up in the morning and be afraid or worried for no apparent reason and once you begin to feel these anxiety symptoms, it may be hard for you to control them. THe symptoms will increase to where your body believes there is physical danger present from some outside force. These feelings can then cause your body to react physiologically.

This simply means you will move from a state of calm to a state of panic. You may begin to feel physically ill such as nausea, headaches, hot flashes, chills and other physical issues. You may feel as though you are having a heart attack because your heart may begin to beat faster, you will feel tightening in your chest or feel heart palpitations. You could actually be fooled into believing you are experiencing a seizure because of the intense feelings that can cause you to twitch, shake and be jittery. The onset of these physiological changes can make it hard to lower your anxiety level. You may start to feel afraid that a more serious medical problem is occurring which can add to your anxiety and panic attacks.

Physical Reactions To Panic Attacks

The reason why your body goes into a physiological response when confronted with anxiety symptoms is because your body will believe that you are in a dangerous situation. Naturally, your body will try to either fight the dangerous situation or flee from it. Both of these ways to deal with anxiety producing stimuli involves your body getting ‘worked up’ so that it can be able to step up to battle. Once the fear or worry subsides, your body will take that cue and return to a stable and calm state.

When you are in the midst of anxiety or panic attacks, the physical reactions and symptoms can interfere with your ability to drive, go out, or really do anything you want. The terror you feel may even temporarily paralyze you so that you are not able to move or you may feel sick physically. This can really cause you problems especially if you need to be somewhere or are in the middle of doing something.

The sufferers of panic or anxiety attacks, have a difficult time joining in with day to day activities, for fear of having an attack. This makes life difficult because you can’t live freely and do the things you want to do.

There are help options available to those who have to deal with panic attacks and anxiety. If you seek the advice of a doctor or other professional you can get the proper evaluation and find out if you might need medication. Some physicians will also refer you to a therapist who will help you control your anxiety levels and help reduce the amount of anxiety and panic attacks you experience. Your doctor will be able to piece together the panic puzzle.
