Parental Anxiety
Should I get parental permission?
Im 15 and ive delt with depression for almost 2 years now, my parents always ask whats wrong, and jokingly say “are you depressed or something…..”I always say “no”. I try to get over it, trust me I do, but what im feeling just isnt going away and im tired of living like this. Major mood swings, always sad, not interested, anxiety etc… Someone thought I should try St Johns Wort apparently a naturel plant made anti depressent. I never tell my parents about my depression, i dont want to talk to a therapist because i feel pathetic. I feel stupid for being like this i want to get rid of it on my own. Does anyone know if its safe to take St Johns Wort? And if I take it do you think I absolutley must have permission?
You can take St Johns Wort without telling your parents, however I really think that you should tell them, your not pathetic, your ill, and you do need support through it, it seems to me that they might just be waiting for you to tell them, if they keep asking how you are and they have mentioned being depressed then maybe they already suspect something. Tell your parents and they will be able to help you through it.
P.S. Check that you are not taking anything else that will mix with the St Johns Wort, There are certain things you cant take it with.
