Social Anxiety Worksheets

I'm always slower than everyone around me, why?

It just always seems to take me longer to do things. I realize now I've always been so, and I tried to be faster, but nothing works. For example, I am the last to finish a worksheet in class and the last to finish my homework. In my work, my colleagues told my friend that I am a good worker, but I'm slow. I used to take long showers, even if I try to be fast, and it takes me a long time to get ready in the morning. I can walk and run fast enough, but it just takes me a long time to do something. I'm smart and I was in advanced classes at school elementary. I have never been diagnosed with mental problems, but I think I have mild social anxiety, and my parents are convinced that my difficulty concentrating because of ADHD. What do you think with me? How to solve this problem? I'm tired of being slower than everyone else.

I do not know your country, but if the USA, your parents have missed the boat on the diagnosis of ADD, but it is not too late to try to take the medication and see if it helps. There are two of them Cylert and Ritalin. I doubt you will appreciate the side effects, loss of appetite, and inablity to sleep. Your problem might be perfectionism or lack of organization skills. I would like to explore these avenues as well. There may be a specialist you could see. Of course, if you are under 21 years, the federal government does not pay. It is on you to give it some thought, and decide whether you want your medical records to reflect a label that could impact future jobs. Just sayin 'Because, so far you have not been labeled, so it can not be so obvious, if not the case, and I advise against self-diagnosis. The doctors will let you try your medication is, after all what do they know? In regard to social anxiety, learn your social skills, and you realize are no different in this area and in these times than others. These moments can be scary, and you do not want to be alone with an unknown and can not even trust a male friend over. So go in groups, and plant a smile on your face and do the best you can. If you have never seen a counselor, give it a try. Do not be ashamed. Personally, I do not to discuss my past life, if you want one, get a cognitive therapist who will teach you strategies to master the skills you missing. So tell me. Do not work private, but some experts.
