Have you ever felt like your mind turning on a hamster wheel? You know, you caught in an endless loop, running on the same old fears again and again, feeling unable to stop the turn and down?
I think we all felt this way at one time or another, and if you have a history of anxiety or panic issues, you probably did some laps on the old hamster wheel. I know I have!
This obsession to review a situation frightening or worrisome is what I call a cognitive loop. "It is uncomfortable at best and at its worst, can have a negative effect on all areas of your life, including your physical reality.
Exactly. Research shows that over time, the mental distress of this type can actually cause physical distress, rapid pulse, increased blood pressure, and even weakened immune system. More reason learn to "jump the hamster wheel." So let's define what this "loop" is done and how you can stop this circle vicious.
I think a cognitive loop like a computer "hang". Remember the last time your computer froze on you? There is become insensitive and any progress before the end came suddenly, right? Probably your only alternative was to "reboot" and start over, because, as everyone knows, once the endless loop begins, you will not do anything until you do!
And exactly how you manage a loop in your thinking!
Once the loop of fear or anxiety begins, all progress stops. Your mind is basically "hung" and you do not get anything productive done until you call a new time, "starter" your system. And how do you restart your mind?
Change = change in physical emotional
Our physical condition and our state mind are very closely linked. For example, I noticed that I always feel calm and focused when I exercise regularly and drink plenty of water. So to change a default (but temporary) state of mind, as the cognitive loop, I recommend immediately change your physical state.
The best way to do is review what you do with your body, and then do the opposite of that. If you are sitting, standing, or even take a short walk. If you slouching, straighten your posture, chin on chest, back straight.
Notice your breathing. Are you taking short, shallow breaths? Take a slow few deep breaths, panting slightly longer than you breathe in. make a little slow and deliberate spread your arms and legs to increase traffic.
All you can do to change your physical state will immediately begin to affect your mental state. And the most extreme change in your physical state, the most extreme change in your mental state will be. This is one reason that exercise is so good for your mental health, especially as a preventive measure.
Walking or bike riding are both good for the nerves, but no physical movement that changes your physical condition will have a positive effect. An easy way to remember this:
"When you change what your body is done, you change what your mind is made. "
